Nizza
Small appellation, big wine
Nizza is a DOCG appellation created in 2014; the name comes not from the city of Nizza Monferrato, but from the rio Nizza, the river that runs through this area. A very small appellation, of which 18 municipalities and more than 80 producers are part, united by one purpose: to make Nizza an excellence not only in Italy, but in the world. Objective pursued through maniacal attention to quality and a very strict specification, including traditional forms of farming, low yields per hectare and well-defined cellar aging times:
- Nizza and Nizza Vigna Minimum aging 18 months of which 6 months in wood.
- Nizza Riserva and Nizza Vigna Riserva Minimum aging 30 months of which 12 months in wood.
